Hai'an, a county-level city in Nantong, is an ideal destination for a short solo trip, where visitors can explore at their own pace and enjoy some time on their own.

Start a journey at Dongzhou Park, where people can wander beneath the trees and soak in the greenery. For a more laid-back experience, head to Shanghu Ecological Park. Walk along the lake, sit by the shore and enjoy the view.

Once visitors have had enough of the parks, swap walking for wheels and explore Hai'an by bike. Pedal along Ruhe River Scenic Avenue, enjoy the evening breeze and take in the sights along the way.

Then carve out some time to learn about Hai'an's history and culture.

Explore Hai'an Museum to learn more about the county's past. Its exhibits and historical artifacts offer a closer look at the region's development over the years.

At the Nantong Tie-Dye Museum, tourists can get hands-on with traditional tie-dye techniques and learn about the area's intangible cultural heritage.

For a quieter stop, visit the former residence of Han Guojun. Its traditional brick-and-tile buildings, old courtyard and century-old magnolia tree offer a rare glimpse into Hai'an's architectural and cultural heritage.

Dasheng Xintiandi is also worth a visit. It combines renovated old factory buildings with modern shops and businesses. The mix of industrial architecture, cafes and other new businesses gives the former industrial site a new lease on life.
