Construction is in full swing on the Blue Ocean New Materials polyolefin plant of China National Petroleum Corp (CNPC) in the Tongzhou Bay Demonstration Zone, Nantong.

As the flagship project of CNPC and a key driver for Nantong's high-quality coastal development, the plant will include facilities for ethane steam cracking and the production of high-end polyolefin new materials, with products serving sectors such as aerospace, healthcare, automotive and photovoltaics.

Once fully completed, the plant is expected to produce an annual output of over 1 million metric tons of high-end chemical products, including polyethylene and polyolefin elastomers. Its role will be significant in driving the high-end, intelligent and green transformation of the petrochemical industry in the Yangtze River Delta region.
