Qidong has made significant strides in intelligent manufacturing. As of 2025, it had established two national-level and 13 provincial-level advanced intelligent factories, covering key industries such as high-tech shipbuilding and marine engineering, semiconductors, high-end equipment, and new energy vehicles.

While encouraging enterprises to pursue smart transformation, Qidong has also been leveraging pilot policies to support 33 enterprises in applying for national pilot projects in marine engineering, new chemical materials, and electronic information manufacturing.

This year, Qidong plans to carry out over 90 enterprise digitalization projects. The first round of solicitation for digital service providers has already been completed, with 41 providers enlisted and 24 enterprises upgraded.

Looking ahead, Qidong will launch an AI-powered manufacturing initiative, establish benchmark application scenarios, and accelerate the development of smart factories. The goal is to build a modern advanced manufacturing hub through digital transformation and continuous innovation.
