The Yangkou Port Economic Development Zone in Rudong, Nantong, Jiangsu province, standing as the core hub of Rudong's maritime development, is ramping up efforts to achieve its development for the fourth quarter.

Centered on project-driven growth, the zone is advancing 38 key projects — 19 of them major provincial or municipal-level projects — with a combined investment of 124.5 billion yuan ($18.53 billion), spanning investment promotion, construction and services.

Leveraging its strengths in port facilities, new energy and industry, the zone is building a liquefied natural gas (LNG) energy cluster. The PetroChina Jiangsu LNG terminal welcomed its 900th LNG carrier on Oct 9 — only the second LNG receiving terminal on the Chinese mainland to reach this milestone.

The zone is also tapping the cold energy released by LNG gasification to attract green computing projects — including ones by China Telecom and VNET Group — marking a shift from supplying energy to outputting computing power.

Targeted investment promotion is driving industrial upgrading, while improved port logistics support a steady pipeline of projects at every stage — operational, nearing completion, under construction and in reserve — and full-lifecycle services help resolve bottlenecks for enterprises.
