During the National Day holiday, Yangkou Port Economic Development Zone in Rudong, Jiangsu province, remained busy with production and construction projects.

Major enterprises continued working to meet delivery deadlines, while thousands of workers remained on site to boost fourth-quarter output.

At the polyester production base of Koksan (Nantong) New Materials, two bottle-grade chip lines ran at full speed, handling everything from polymerization to packaging and shipping.

This major foreign-funded project benefits from the strong local industrial cluster: its core raw material purified terephthalic acid (PTA) from neighboring Jiatong Energy, reaches the base within 30 minutes. The company's Phase I project was built and launched in just 16 months. Once at full capacity, 70 percent of its output will go to the Middle East and Europe.

Tongkun Group's Phase III project broke ground in the first quarter and was already in production by the third quarter. Its first phase, with an investment of 500 million yuan ($74.26 million), will produce 100,000 metric tons of composite elastic fiber annually, with expected sales of over 1 billion yuan.

Recent projects focus on high-purity electronic chemicals, sustainable aviation fuel, and a 200MW/800MWh energy storage station.

Yangkou Port now operates eight open berths in a two-port layout, allowing raw materials to move from ship to plant and products from plant to ship. PetroChina Jiangsu LNG Terminal became the province's first carbon-neutral LNG terminal, supporting a green energy chain.
