The Sunshine Island in Rudong saw busy foreign trade operations on May 14, with its liquefied natural gas (LNG) receiving terminal and berths G4 and G5 at the Liquid Chemical Terminal welcoming and disembarking five foreign ships.

The businesses covered LNG unloading, import of new material raw materials, export of new shipbuilding to other regions, and export of purified terephthalic acid products.

In the face of multiple challenges such as strong winds, concentrated arrival of ships, diverse types of operations, and dense arrival periods, the Rudong Border Inspection Station took proactive actions such as assessing meteorological and navigation risks, connecting with ship agents, port operations, and related enterprises, and investigating ship dynamics, operation plans, and customs clearance needs.

Upon arrival, the on-duty law enforcement personnel implemented protocols for managing adverse weather scenarios, streamlined the customs clearance procedures, and reduced inspection timeframes, facilitating expedited processing at customs.

In recent years, Yangkou Port has continued to enhance its comprehensive service capabilities, achieving a key transformation from a single energy port to a modern comprehensive port. At present, the port has built and put into use three freight terminals and eight berths, with an annual throughput capacity of over 10 million metric tons.
