More projects have been put into operation in Rudong, a county in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, this year.

At the production base of Gold Hongye Paper, construction workers are busy preparing for the operation of four productions lines, which are expected to be put into service by the end of this year, according to Lin Weizhu, deputy general manager of the paper manufacturer.

"Authorities of the Yangkou Port Economic Development Zone in Rudong have improved administrative service efficiency, ensuring our projects start operating as soon as possible," said Lin.

The zone authorities have also invested 3.2 billion yuan ($458.48 million) in the construction of 35 infrastructure facilities to ensure the projects' smooth operations.

Rudong has also brought in more projects this year.

The Rudong Economic Development Zone, for example, secured 14 manufacturing projects with a combined investment of over 10 billion yuan, including $500-million environmental protection facilities and 1.1-billion-yuan converter station.

In August, Sunpower Technology (Jiangsu) Co Ltd announced it will invest 11.1 million yuan to build a clean energy equipment industrial base in Rudong.

This year, the county aims to utilize $480 million in foreign capital and bring in 120 projects.
