China Mobile, Tongkun combine to develop industrial internet

China Mobile's Nantong branch and Tongkun Group's Jiatong Energy (Nantong) Co Ltd recently signed a strategic agreement to combine forces in Rudong county – administered by Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province.
Tongkun Group's Jiatong Energy is a major project that was established in Rudong in 2020 with a total investment of 22 billion yuan ($3.26 billion). Located in the county's Yangkou Port Economic Development Zone, it consists of a production plant for petrochemicals, polyester and filaments.
The deal between China Mobile and the Tongkun Group is seen as being of great significance in the development of the 5G+ industrial internet in Rudong.
Under the accord, the partners will build an intelligent manufacturing demonstration plant. They will give full play to their resource advantages in their respective technical fields and jointly explore the application of 5G technology in the chemicals industry.
Shao Feng, secretary of the Party working committee of the Yangkou Port Economic Development Zone, attended the signing ceremony and said that the agreement would boost the smart transformation of local manufacturers.
