According to an offshore wind power industry symposium held on May 6, Rudong county – administered by Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province – plans to build four more offshore meteorological stations this year to better serve the development of the county's offshore wind power industry, local media reported.

The Rudong Meteorological Bureau has already built two stations, respectively located in the booster stations of the CGN wind power plant and the Huaneng wind power plant.

In addition to improving the meteorological service capabilities for offshore wind power generation, the two meteorological stations also play an active role in ensuring safe offshore production and serving the development and utilization of marine resources in Rudong.

This year, the bureau will deploy four meteorological stations in the booster stations of the H4, H7, H10 and H1 wind power plants.

Moving forward, the Rudong Meteorological Bureau will join hands with the county's development and reform commission to initiate a new model in which enterprises construct the stations and share resources, seeking to further boost the high-quality development of the county's coastal economy.
