Diverse activities held in NETDA to celebrate Dragon Boat Festival
To Celebrate Dragon Boat Festival, the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area (NETDA) held a diverse array of activities from May 26 to 31.
At Xiaohai sub-district, students dressed in Chinese traditional hanfu, guiding residents as they partook in folk customs such as touhu (pitch-pot), vitalizing the millennia-old Dragon Boat Festival traditions through interactive experiences.
Zhuhang sub-district invited residents of the Miao ethnic group to wrap triangular and elongated zongzi (rice dumplings), enhancing the festive atmosphere with warmth and cultural diversity.
Meanwhile, at Xinkai sub-district, children crafted delicate bamboo dragon boats under the guidance of volunteers, and Zhongxing sub-district hosted a zongzi-making event, where residents exchanged techniques such as folding leaves, filling glutinous rice, compacting, sealing, and tying.
Centered on cultural heritage and community warmth, these activities seamlessly integrated traditional festivities into daily life. Moving forward, NETDA plans to carry out more such events, providing residents with more opportunities to engage in traditional cultural practices.
