Competition encourages innovation, entrepreneurship in Tongzhou district

The 5th Tongzhou Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition concluded on Nov 19, with 12 projects vying for the top prize of 200,000 yuan ($30,400) in the final round.
Competition began in October, attracting nearly 100 projects which were screened down to 12 for the final. They competed for first, second, and third prizes, as well as special and excellence awards. And the final was held at the Jianghai Smart Park of the Nantong National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone.
The competition has been successfully held five times so far, and has attracted a group of outstanding innovative teams and talented people to settle in Tongzhou.
Xu Haiyan, member of the standing committee of the Tongzhou district Party committee and head of the organization department of Tongzhou district, made a speech at the event.
She pointed out that Tongzhou will strive to create a first-class environment with excellent business ecology and good development prospects, and as a civil rule of law society will provide improved government service to support all types of talents.
Qian Guobin, deputy secretary of the Party working committee of the Nantong Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone, promoted the favorable investment environment and growth potential of the zone.
As the main platform for development and opening up, the zone has gathered large numbers of talents and volumes of capital and resources that serve industry development well. It is now one of the zones with the most development potential and the most investment value in the Yangtze River Delta, Qian added.
