The Integrated Circuit Components Industry Park, unveiled in the Nantong National High-tech Industrial Development Zone on Oct 31, has already attracted 62 companies with a total investment of 35 billion yuan (5.30 billion).
The opening ceremony was held during the National Integrated Circuit Equipment and Components Industry Nantong Summit.
The park will be jointly developed by the National Integrated Circuit Components Innovation Alliance and Nantong high-tech zone. Their development focus is on semiconductor vacuum products, laser equipment, wet processing equipment, precision parts and other product segments.
Enterprises located in the park will enjoy subsidies provided by the Nantong National High-tech Development Zone in different forms from comprehensive investment to equipment purchases, product sales, procurement and investment and financing to support their various development stages.
Wang Hui, mayor of Nantong, said that in recent years, Nantong has been committed to the development of a new generation of information technology, and has initially formed a whole industry chain integrating chip design, semiconductor device manufacturing, packaging and testing, equipment material manufacturing and technical services.
In the first three quarters of this year, Nantong's integrated circuit industry overcame the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic to realize a 22.5 percent year-on-year increase in sales revenue, showing a strong development momentum.
Over the past years, the Nantong National High-tech Industrial Development Zone has continuously optimized its industrial structure and improved its technological innovation system by gathering various resources, and has grown into one of the most valuable development zones in the Yangtze River Delta.
At present, the high-tech zone is striving to upgrade the integrated circuit industry with the pursuit of advances in design, manufacturing, and equipment materials. A cluster of IT-related enterprises has been formed with electronics as the foundation, integrated circuit semiconductors as the core, and artificial intelligence application technology as the future driving force.
