Nantong High-tech Zone achieves high-quality economic development in Q1-Q3

In the first three quarters of 2020, Nantong National High-tech Industrial Development Zone overcame the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic to introduce 42 projects, each of which is worth over 100 million yuan ($14.9 million), and realize high-quality development.
In the manufacturing workshop of IKEA Component (China) Co Ltd, more than 20 large automatic packing machines are sorting and packaging furniture installation accessories. Compared with traditional manual sorting, the machines are far more improved in automation, efficiency and accuracy.
"The automatic packing machine can have up to 16 accessories packed as a product," Xu Hui, business communication manager of IKEA Component, explained. "With a view to economies of scale, all the accessories used in IKEA products are packaged in this factory."
Construction of IKEA Component (China) Co Ltd, with an investment valued at $85 million, started in Nantong National High-tech Industrial Development Zone in September 2018.
The project for IKEA precision components has the characteristics of large investment, high output efficiency and is pollution-free. As an important part of IKEA's supply chain, it is positioned to serve the entire Asia-Pacific market and is a key link for IKEA's sustainable development in the region. IKEA's settlement plays a positive role in promoting the industrial development of Nantong High-tech Development Zone and Tongzhou district.
After two years' construction, the company entered the trial production stage earlier in 2020.

Jiangsu Shengyi Advanced Material Co Ltd, which is adjacent to IKEA Component, settled in Nantong National High-tech Industrial Development Zone in 2017. It is a company specializing in research and development, manufacturing and marketing of special copper plates.
As new infrastructure and commercial use of 5G technology flourish, Shengyi has achieved a boom in production and sales of high-frequency special copper clad laminate for its domestic leading technologies since coming into production in 2019.
