Cross-border e-commerce boosts Nantong home textiles sector
The 2021 Cross-border E-commerce Nantong Home Textile Industry Investment Promotion Conference, whose theme was "new platform, new challenge" was held in Sanxing town in Haimen district – administered by Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province – on May 25.
Representatives from domestic and international cross-border e-commerce platforms and institutions were invited to consider and analyze the latest related policies.
Sanxing town is an e-commerce hub in Haimen district and is also a significant center for home textiles in China. In 2019, it was recognized as a provincial demonstration e-commerce base by the Department of Commerce of Jiangsu Province.
The China Dearshiqiao International Home Textiles – under the jurisdiction of Sanxing – is one of the largest home textile markets in the country. It has rich resources in terms of its industrial operations, markets and merchants that provide a solid foundation for the cross-border e-commerce development of the town.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic last year, overseas buyers have all shifted to online purchasing.
To meet the challenges and opportunities brought about by the global online purchasing trend, Sanxing plans to focus on two major programs – the Dearshiqiao Cross-border E-commerce Industry Center and the Shenzhen (Dearshiqiao) Cross-border E-commerce Offshore Incubation Center.
In addition, Sanxing town will roll out a slew of preferential policies for cross-border e-commerce enterprises – such as rewards for opening an online shop and subsidies for cross-border e-commerce training and international trademark registrations.
