The Experimental Junior High School of Rugao Economic and Technological Development Zone, which is located in Rugao, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, recently held a ceremony for its eighth graders at the city's Shuihui Garden to mark their transition from childhood to adolescence.

Various performances, such as choruses, group dances, and poetry recitations, were staged at the ceremony. Several teachers and parents offered words of hope to the 14-year-olds, emphasizing that they expect them to keep being passionate and courageous about their future, as well as start learning to take on responsibilities.

All students wrote down their names and dreams on a banner, with the hope of achieving their goals someday in the future. The activity made them experience the first sweet joys of growing up and realize the duties that are on their shoulders, some of the students said.

The ceremony also included learning the history of the Communist Party of China so that the teenagers could draw strength and acquire wisdom from it.
