Communities in Rugao Economic and Technological Development Zone, which is located in Rugao, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, organized a variety of festive activities to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival, which fell on June 14 this year.
Local residents and volunteers gathered at their communities on the day to take part in fun activities like making zongzi, a traditional Chinese food that is made of glutinous rice, stuffed with different fillings, wrapped in bamboo leaves, and usually consumed on the festival.
Participants also made sachets and dragon boats with bamboo strips, both of which are traditions of the festival.
