The Rugao Economic and Technological Development Zone Experimental Primary School, located in Rugao, Nantong, held a series of activities on May 25 in an effort to encourage students to do more reading and learn about the history of the Communist Party of China.

Local government and Party officials donated many classic books themed around China's past revolutions to the school. Various types of shows, including singing, dancing, recitals, and Peking Opera, were also held.

A work station was set up at the school by the office of the cyberspace affairs commission of the CPC Nantong Municipal Committee and other government departments to protect students from harmful information on the internet.

Schools play important roles in teaching students about Party history and building a healthy environment for them, said Zhang Yaluan, vice-mayor of Rugao. She added that students need to learn about Marxism and Socialism with Chinese Characteristics as this year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC.
