Rugao Economic and Technological Development Zone, which is located in Rugao, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, has experienced rapid development in its cultural industry, with a number of local companies in the sector posting revenue growth.

Jiangsu Zitian Media Technology Co is an advertising agency in the zone that has cooperated with many domestic internet giants like Xiaomi, Kuaishou, Baidu, and Jinri Toutiao. As of the end of April, the company has generated 60 million yuan ($9.39 million) in taxable revenue and the figure is expected to reach 180 million yuan this year.

Bestway (Nantong) Recreation Group, a leisure products manufacturer in the zone, plans to put a PVC pool project into operation this October. The project, which started last November, produces pools that are exported overseas and is expected to bring in 1 billion yuan in taxable revenue. The company aims to generate 5 billion yuan in taxable revenue in 2021.

A group of 10 projects, with a total of 2.66 billion yuan in investment, including a water park at Pingyuanchi village in the development zone, were recently recognized as key projects at the municipal level by the Nantong government.

According to Gao Feng, director of the publicity department of the CPC Rugao Municipal Committee, the city plans to invest 4 million yuan, which is twice as much as last year's investment, to bring in more cultural projects and to support local companies engaged in the industry.
