Bestway (Nantong) Recreation Co, which is located in Rugao Economic and Technological Development Zone in Rugao, Nantong, has received a surge of orders this year and is planning to expand its business, local media outlets reported.

An exceedingly large increase in demand has been seen in the European and US markets, said Song Huaibin, a director of the company's logistics center. An average of 180 containers of products are delivered to overseas markets every day and the center is expected to ship $400 million worth of goods in the first quarter, Song added.

The company's 16 mattress production lines have all run at their full capacity, with an output of 8,500 mattresses per day, according to Hu Xinlong, manager of Bestway's mattress factory. The output value in the first quarter is estimated to reach 300 million yuan ($46.43 million).

Due to the surge in orders, the mattress plant will invest over 20 million yuan in improving its technology this year, with 24 new smart production lines put into operation, Hu said. He added that the automated production lines will reduce personnel costs and greatly enhance production efficiency.
