Vocational education powers Sieyuan subsidiaries in Rugao
Subsidiaries of Sieyuan Electric, which are based in Rugao Economic and Technological Development Zone in Nantong, have accelerated their high-quality development through cooperation with local vocational schools.
More than 300 graduates from Jiangsu Rugao Secondary Specialized School, which worked with Sieyuan Electric and set up a pilot program known as the “Sieyuan class” in 2007 to train qualified workers, have joined the company's subsidiaries in Rugao, according to Yin Tiejun, head of the production operating department at Sieyuan Electric.
The vocational schools are committed to fostering skilled technicians and can provide a steady inflow of personnel for the company, said Tang Haibo, supply chain director at Sieyuan Electric.
The high-quality graduates from these schools not only ease our labor shortages, but also help propel the company's high-quality development, Tang added.
Jia Jianjun, head of Jiangsu Rugao Secondary Specialized School, said that they will continue to cooperate with local companies and develop new courses to train more professionals.
Rugao recently published a three-year action plan, in which it plans to invest 5 million yuan ($772,000) every year to promote the cooperation between vocational schools and enterprises.
