Rugao Economic and Technological Development Zone, which is a national-level development zone located in Rugao, Nantong, is ramping up efforts to achieve high-quality development, especially in the sectors of foreign investment and innovation.

The development zone will take solid steps to streamline the administrative examination and approval process so that foreign investment projects can start construction and operating at a faster pace.

The zone will also increase its investment in scientific and technological innovation, as well as in improving the business environment and infrastructure within the area.

In addition, increased efforts will be made to reduce pollution and restructure state-owned enterprises' management systems.

Earlier this year, the development zone set high growth goals, aiming to increase 10 billion yuan ($1.55 billion) in industrial investment every year, attract more than $500 million in foreign investment within three years, as well as to be included in the top 40 development zones of the country.
