Rugao development zone highlights sci-tech innovation
The Rugao Economic and Technological Development Zone – located in Rugao, a county-level city administered by Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province – recently held a match-making event for scientific and technological projects and talented professionals, the local media reported.
The heads of more than 50 small and micro sci-tech enterprises resident in the zone communicated face-to-face with experts and professors from Tsinghua University, Jilin University and other universities to seek cooperation opportunities in scientific research and talent cultivation.
Lin Wenmei, vice mayor of Rugao, told the event the development zone will promote the collaborative innovation between industries, universities and research institutes.
Scientific and technological innovation is the key to developing regional competitiveness and the fundamental driving force for industrial transformation, according to zone officials.
They said that last year, the development zone joined hands with Mytech – a company listed on the National Equities Exchange and Quotations – to launch a State-level incubator.
Officials said that more than 30 small and micro enterprises have settled in the incubator so far.
