Volunteers from the Chengbei sub-district in Rugao – a county-level city administrated by Nantong prefecture-level city in East China's Jiangsu province – held a special science class in the city's Automobile Culture Center for local primary school students on Aug 22, local media reported.
In order to give the students a great experience, the voluntary teachers also organized interactive experiments.
They used CDs, plastic bottle caps, balloons and other commonly seen materials to explain scientific principles such as reactive force, so that the children could understand easily.
The students also experienced virtual reality, or VR, technologies at the Automobile Culture Center.
According to officials, Chengbei sub-district plans to carry out various activities like science experiments, public science classes, science film screenings and science lectures every month to enrich teenagers' extra-curricular activities and stimulate their scientific interest.
