Jiangsu Datang International Rugao Thermal Power Generation Co Ltd was registered in Rugao in January 2016. The enterprise is located in Rugao Economic and Technological Development Zone, which is 150 kilometers northwest of Shanghai and 200 km east of Nanjing.

The enterprise has introduced a project which includes a high-efficiency circulating fluidized bed boiler and a coal-fired power generation heating unit, with an annual heating capacity of 2.42 million gigajoules.

The project successfully replaced the original centralized heating facility and surrounding small boilers, and was important in promoting local economic development, improving environmental governance, and driving the overall industrial upgrading of the development zone.
