Innovation projects boost industrial development in Chongchuan

Chongchuan district, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, has made remarkable progress in boosting innovation and entrepreneurship in the first six months of this year.
The output value of high-tech industries in Chongchuan surpassed 33 billion yuan ($4.74 billion) during the six-month period, accounting for 63.6 percent of the total output value of industrial enterprises above designated size in the district.
The accomplishments of the the district are primarily due to sustained efforts made by the local government to introduce talent.
Yao Jie, founder of Jiangsu Bojia Biomedical Technology Co Ltd, is one such example.
Yao came to the district after being included in a talent recruitment program launched by Chongchuan in 2021. His company, which has generated sales revenue of over 1.5 million yuan to date, has been named a municipal innovation project.
In Chongchuan has thus far created three major industrial parks and 65 provincial facilities for innovation and entrepreneurship. Among them, 16 are at the national level.
The district has also established a facility for intellectual property operations and development by teaming up with Nantong University.
The number of valid invention patents registered in Chongchuan had hit 6,198 as of June, ranking first in Nantong.
Two enterprises in the district - Nantong Guosheng Intelligence Technology Group and Jiangsu Jingyuan Environmental Technology Co Ltd - debuted on the Science and Technology Innovation Board of the Shanghai Stock Exchange in the past two years.
