Nantong's Chongchuan district launched a conference in Xi'an, Shaanxi province on Sept 8 to boost its cooperation with the city in innovation and entrepreneurship in the smart manufacturing sector.

The event witnessed the inking of a strategic cooperation agreement by the Gangzha Economic Development Zone, an important economic engine in Chongchuan and the Shaanxi Alumni Alliance of China's seven universities engaged in defense-related technology research.

During the conference, officials of the Gangzha Economic Development Zone also briefed attendees on the zone’s business environment and preferential policies in talent introduction and technical innovation in hopes of attracting more projects and talents from Xi’an to the zone.

Gangzha in recent years has made strides in the development of the intelligent equipment manufacturing industry.

The zone is currently home to 75 high-tech enterprises, three listed enterprises, three national-level "little giant" enterprises, six provincial-level "little giant" enterprises, and 19 municipal-level "little giant" enterprises.

Nearly 80 professors and experts from universities and organizations in Xi'an attended the event.
