CCEDZ makes progress in project construction
Authorities in the Chongchuan Economic Development Zone in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province have made great strides in advancing the construction of its major projects.
Among these projects is the 500-million-yuan ($73.75 million) high tension terminal facility that is funded by EC Precision Technology (Jiangsu) Corporation.
Xu Aiming, the president of EC Precision, said that the government's efficient services have made it possible for his company to begin construction quickly. He noted that construction will be completed by the end of this year.
The construction of seven other major projects started in the zone on Jan 30.
Expedited construction has been made possible by the implementation of measures rolled out by the zone's investment promotion bureau. One of these measures - actively engaging with investors who intend to establish a presence in the zone – has led to four projects being secured and 16 projects being negotiated this year.
The zone is aiming to launch 35 projects with an investment of more than 100 million yuan each this year, said Zhang Ming, the director of the zone's investment promotion bureau.
Authorities have been exploring new means, including strengthening cooperation with industry investment funds and professional investment organizations, to attract more high-quality projects.
Authorities will also do more to attract investment in fields such as machine tools, automotive electronics, digital transportation, headquarter clusters, medical health and industrial finance.
In addition, authorities have taken steps like improving working mechanisms, optimizing the business environment and establishing special task forces to ensure that investments are used effectively.
