Chongchuan takes measures to improve environment

Authorities of the Chongchuan Economic Development Zone in Nantong, East China’s Jiangsu province have implemented a series of measures to fight against environmental pollution this year.
For instance, authorities in the zone’s Xinghuo community had in October launched a campaign to clear fallen leaves in the rivers. During the clearing process, cleaners also collected waste such as plastic bags and discarded paper.
Authorities also regularly engage with the persons in charge of bridges under construction to ensure that construction waste is handled properly.
In addition, authorities have been ramping up efforts to improve the management of dust emissions. Efforts include carrying out regular supervision, conducting tests on reclaimed land and explaining related policies and regulations about dust control to local residents.
