Authorities in the Chongchuan Economic Development Zone in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, have over the past decade been ramping up efforts to create more job opportunities for local residents with disabilities.

For example, the government of the Qinglongqiao community in the zone had in 2012 built a high-tech plantation that grows grapes and other fruit. The garden has since provided many jobs for people with disabilities.

An e-commerce platform was set up in 2017 to expand the sales channels for the grapes, and this has greatly improved the incomes of locals with disabilities.

The grape plantation at the garden spans more than 30 mu (2 hectares) and is expected to produce 30 metric tons of grapes this year.

Creating more job opportunities for people with disabilities is part of the efforts by local authorities to achieve common prosperity.

Those interested in picking grapes at the plantation can call (86) 18206295333 or (86) 13862838876.
