A signing ceremony for a pediatric and chronic-disease single-pill combination (SPC) high-end formulation project was held in Haimen district, Nantong, Jiangsu province, on July 14.

The project is based on an investment by Lingyao Biotechnology (Shanghai), a company that specializes in the R&D, licensing, and commercial operations of pediatric specialty drugs and SPC formulations.

In the first phase, with a cushion of 200 million yuan ($29.55 million), the company plans to build workshops for SPC solid dosages with an annual capacity of 800 million to 1 billion tablets, alongside oral liquids and specialty formulations. The second phase is expected to generate 1 billion yuan in annual output value once fully operational.

With its prime location, strong industrial base, and business-friendly environment, Haimen has prioritized the life-and-health sector and attracted leading enterprises, forging a relatively complete biological medicine supply chain.
