As one of the biggest events organized since the opening of the Jiangong Lake Youth Development Block, the site featured shops repurposed from private cars with each trunk filled with handcrafted teas, specialty snacks, and original trendy toys.
"The trunk market, as well as bonfire party and lakeside music, creates a relaxed social setting that allow young people to find a sense of belonging," said the operations manager of the base.
Jiangong Lake area is now a central hub for young talent in Haimen. It features bases for e-sports, micro-dramas filming, soccer training and lakeside camping, along with co-working spaces and social hubs, offering a mix of work, leisure and social interaction.
Young people are the core engine of a city's vitality and creativity. That's why Haimen is going all out to build a youth development ecosystem.
As of now, the district has attracted 122 high-caliber youth talent projects, with over 200 million yuan ($29.49 million) in funding support. The city also offers 18 youth hotels that provide up to 30 days of free accommodation for young job-seekers.
