COSCO Shipping (Qidong) Offshore Co held a naming ceremony for the fourth NG20000-class wind installation vessel built for Cadeler, a global leader in offshore wind farm construction, maintenance, and decommissioning from Denmark.

The new vessel has been named "Wind Ace", following the same theme as its three earlier sister ships — "Wind Peak", "Wind Pace" and "Wind Ally".

The naming marks a milestone for COSCO Shipping (Qidong) Offshore Co, as it shows the company's leading role in global high-end offshore equipment and the strength of China-Europe cooperation in green energy.

The vessel is the second of three A-class ships Cadeler has ordered from COSCO Shipping (Qidong) Offshore Co. It is the world's largest and most advanced wind installation ship. It features a unique design that allows it to switch quickly from a foundation installation vessel to a turbine installation vessel, with a main crane capacity of over 2,600 metric tons.

Each shipment can carry seven 15-megawatt turbine sets or six large steel piles, cutting down travel time and boosting work efficiency. It can also load some of the largest wind turbine components in the offshore wind industry.

With "Wind Ace" named, COSCO Shipping (Qidong) Offshore has secured orders for more than half of the world's high-end wind installation vessels. From "Wind Peak", "Wind Pace" and "Wind Ally" to "Wind Ace", Chinese offshore engineering is reshaping the global market through innovation, lean management, and green thinking.
