Conference for developing offshore engineering & shipbuilding held in Qidong

The 2026 Qidong Offshore Engineering & Shipbuilding High-Quality Development Forum and Conference on FPSO&FLNG and Module Supply Chain took place in Qidong, a county-level city of Nantong, on April 10.
This brought together top manufacturers from around the world, as well as representatives of supply chain enterprises, and domestic and international experts and scholars.
In his speech, Qidong mayor pointed out that the conference was not only a high-level dialogue among global experts in offshore engineering and shipbuilding, but a new starting point for Qidong to connect with global resources and speed up the full transformation of its offshore and shipbuilding industry.
He hoped the guests would help Qidong solve the bottlenecks of green and smart transition to boost the development of a modern industrial system. He invited them to bring more talent, projects, and businesses to Qidong, and to work together to turn the local offshore and shipbuilding industry into a 100-billion-yuan ($14.67 billion) level cluster.
The event was hosted by Guo Jian, a senior advisor from Norwegian Energy Partners. Qidong's deputy mayor gave a presentation on investment opportunities in the county-level city.
Several guests gave speeches on industry trends, new technologies, client needs, and certification services, and discussed industry challenges in technology, market, and policy.
After the forum, participants visited several companies, including Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering, Hansun (Jiangsu) Marine Technology, Wison, and Haomai Heavy Industry (Jiangsu).
