CCCC Third Harbor (Nantong) Ocean Engineering has put into operation one of China's most advanced fully intelligent production lines for metro tunnel segments, achieving a more than 100 percent increase in production efficiency while maintaining a product pass rate of over 99 percent.

The smart manufacturing model is the result of more than a year of technological development and system optimization. From the assembly and calibration of sensing equipment to data modeling, training and iterative upgrades, the company has accumulated vast amounts of production data and operational information to support its intelligent manufacturing system.

The company, which focuses on steel structure products and precast concrete products, operates a production base in Qidong covering 34.38 hectares.

Its self-developed digital platform is equipped with six intelligent robots and an AI-powered quality inspection system, helping drive a major shift toward unmanned production. Compared with traditional manufacturing methods, the new system has reduced labor costs by 80 percent.

The upgrade reflects the company's push to strengthen advanced manufacturing capabilities through digitalization, automation and artificial intelligence, while improving both production quality and operational efficiency.
