Chongchuan player fuels China's return to U20 Women's World Cup

In the quarterfinals of the U20 Women's Asian Cup on April 11, the Chinese women's team defeated Uzbekistan 2-1 to advance to the semifinals and secure a spot in the 2026 FIFA U20 Women's World Cup in Poland, returning to the global stage of this tournament after an eight-year absence. 

Yu Jiaqi, a player for Nantong Chongchuan women's soccer team, delivered a stellar performance, assisting on a goal and scoring with a follow-up shot, helping the Chinese team take a two-goal lead and secure the victory.

Founded in 2004, Chongchuan women's soccer team has adhered to the principle of integrating sports with education and has developed a comprehensive training system that spans from primary school through high school. Its youth development program now includes eight different age groups, with over 120 athletes currently in training. 

Over the past 20 years, the team has produced numerous soccer talents, with many players being selected for national youth, junior and provincial teams. The team has also competed in provincial games and won several gold medals, making significant contributions to soccer in Nantong and Jiangsu province.
