The groundbreaking ceremony for the Tianxun Commercial Remote Sensing Satellite Ground Receiving Station Project was held in Chongchuan district, Nantong, on April 14.

Nantong Remote Sensing Satellite Industrial Base features a key project that marks the first state-approved ground receiving station for remote sensing satellites in the Yangtze River Delta region.

The project involves a total investment of 140 million yuan ($20.52 million) and covers an area of 83 mu (5.53 hectares). It has been approved for the construction of six ground receiving antennas, which will enable the reception of data from over 300 remote sensing satellites. Once completed, it will serve as a leading hub for large-scale remote sensing satellite data in China.

Wu Fangzhong, chairman of Jiangsu Tianxun Aerospace Technology, said that the company is set to accelerate the establishment of the Nantong Remote Sensing Satellite Industrial Base, exploring breakthroughs in key technologies such as remote sensing satellite measurement, operation and control, contributing more to the high-quality development of commercial aerospace.
