The ancient Sijie Block in Nantong, Jiangsu province, is undergoing a cultural revival that combines its rich traditional heritage with dynamic modern creativity.

Following the completion of infrastructure upgrades in Sijie Block's alleys, the local commercial environment has greatly improved. Shops selling cultural and creative items, herbal sachets, handcrafted desserts, and specialty teas and coffees are doing well, with the famous Sijie stinky tofu selling out early every day.

Even with the early winter chill in the city, Sijie Block maintains a lively and inviting atmosphere. Art installations decorate street corners, and elegant gatherings enliven the courtyards, providing both locals and tourists with a charming opportunity for exploration and enjoyment.

On the afternoon of Nov 8, the "Art Up: Encounter Art at the Corner" event took place again in Sijie Block. A blend of original songs and popular favorites attracted many tourists, who paused to appreciate the performances. The heartfelt lyrics celebrating Sijie Block's historic alleys resonated with the audience.

Between musical performances, a stylish bartender captivated guests with his creative cocktails. He served local rice wine infused with lemon, sweet orange, and rosemary, which delighted visitors with its fragrant flavor.

As evening settled and the day's activities wound down, Sijie Block embraced a tranquil atmosphere. At No 71, the courtyard was brightly lit, inviting the acclaimed Nantong designer Yu Qi to participate in the "Nantong Night at 7" series. He shared his insights with an eager audience of local visitors and tourists, enriching their cultural experience.
