The area around Haoxi Library in downtown Nantong glowed with light on the evening of Sept 12. "Five Pavilions Inviting the Moon" is one of the 10 scenic spots along the Haohe River, where waterside pavilions were brightly lit and the river shimmered as tour boats drifted past.

Residents relaxed inside the pavilions, paused to take photos, or stood along the riverbank capturing the night views. Lamp lights from the ancient pavilions reflected on the rippling water, creating a blend of a serene retreat and the easy rhythm of everyday life.
