The fourth Nantong-style Bonsai Art Exhibition recently opened to the public at Wenfeng Park in Nantong, Jiangsu province, featuring over 60 bonsai from various districts and counties of the city.

The Nantong-style bonsai is one of the eight major schools of Chinese tree stump bonsai. Its stylistic roots go back to the Tang Dynasty (618-907), developed further during the Song and Yuan dynasties (960-1368), flourished in the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911), and continue to thrive today.

The traditional style of Nantong bonsai is famous for its "two and a half curves", and its artistic features include careful material selection and a distinct regional flavor.

The exhibition will run until Nov 3.
