Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province launched a series of activities at the Hai'an Museum on May 18 to celebrate the International Museum Day and China Tourism Day.
The activities highlighted the achievements of local museums and promoted key cultural and tourism projects across the city. The innovative "Traveling with Museums" themed routes integrated museum experiences with tourism resources, creating a unique cultural and tourism opportunity for residents and tourists.
Following the opening ceremony, attendees explored a much-anticipated exhibition dedicated to Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). This exhibition provided insights into the emperor's exploration of astronomy, mathematics, geography, and other natural sciences.
At the 2025 Nantong Museums Education Expo, various museums showcased their educational courses, unique study programs, and cultural and creative products, inviting active participation from students and parents.
On International Museum Day, Nantong planned 49 permanent exhibitions, 20 temporary exhibitions, 23 social education activities, and nine additional events.
Furthermore, to stimulate cultural and tourism consumption, the city organized nearly 100 cultural and tourism activities, including interactive events at scenic spots, popular performances, cultural and sports events, and distinctive exhibitions, offering diverse cultural and tourism experiences for everyone.
