In April, Leading Optics (Shanghai) Co Ltd inaugurated a cutting-edge micro-nano optics industrial base in Rugao, with an investment of 2 billion yuan ($275.18 million).
Inside the base's ultra-precision machining center, 40 world-class diamond lathes and grinders are in full operation, carrying out various complex tasks. These machines employ a globally pioneering five-axis plus single-point diamond ultra-precision machining technology, independently developed by Leading Optics.
"This innovation overcomes the limitations of traditional five-axis machining, resolving the conflict between ultra-high precision and high-efficiency production for the first time," said Zhang Zhe, chief executive officer of Leading Optics. Currently, the company's products are widely utilized in the manufacturing of ultra-precision optical components, as well as in the biomedical, consumer electronics, and smart automotive sectors.
The startup team at Leading Optics has generated an annual output value of 100 million yuan in just four years. With the new production base now operational, the company anticipates a 50 percent annual growth rate.
