China's latest generation of self-elevating wind power installation platform was delivered in Haimen district, Nantong, Jiangsu province on May 18.
This platform, with a self-elevating capacity of 2,000 metric tons, showcases the latest technological advancements in China's offshore wind power installation sector, according to authorities.
The platform covers an area equivalent to 18 basketball courts and is exceptionally wind resistant, capable of withstanding winds up to 16 on the Beaufort scale. It can also operate in waters up to 70 meters deep, fully meeting the requirements for installing 25-megawatt wind turbines.
The deployment of this platform will enhance China's capability in offshore wind power construction operations, advancing development towards deeper and farther offshore areas.
