Haimen makes strides in attracting high-caliber talent
Haimen district in Nantong, Jiangsu province has been implementing a raft of measures to attract top talent in recent years.
The initiatives include the implementation of favorable policies, establishment of innovation platforms, and nurturing of high-tech enterprises.
Last June, authorities introduced a policy to streamline the approval procedures for top talent seeking to start businesses in the district, providing essential support in terms of funding, land, and subsidies. To date, seven projects have been launched through this initiative.
Haimen has also been focusing on strengthening its industrial clusters in fields such as advanced metal materials, healthcare, high-end equipment, next-generation information technology, new energy, and the marine economy, to attract entrepreneurs to the district.
The local government has also invested in the establishment of numerous innovation platforms, including the Yangtze Delta Drug Advanced Research Institute and the Haimen Integrated Circuit Research Center of Wuhan University, to accelerate the industrialization and commercialization of scientific and technological achievements.
In addition, efforts have been made to enhance government services and living conditions by improving transportation, healthcare, and educational facilities, ensuring a better quality of life for residents.
The district currently boasts a talent pool of 240,000 high-caliber individuals, including 145 national-level talents, and has fostered 106 high-tech companies.
