Chongchuan district in Nantong, Jiangsu province has been aggressively developing its building economy in recent years. 

This year, the region's goal is to add five buildings worth over 1 billion yuan ($138.13 million) each and create more than 10 themed buildings.

The district currently boasts 175 commercial buildings spanning over 3,000 square meters, with a total office area nearing 4 million square meters. The occupancy rate has surged past 70 percent, up by 7.9 percentage points from the previous year.

The number of businesses in these buildings has grown by 1,228, nearing 15,000 in total, and they employ over 110,000 people.

In 2023, these building-related enterprises in Chongchuan contributed 46.7 billion yuan in taxes, accounting for nearly a third of the district's total tax revenue. The taxes mainly come from high-value industries like software information, digital culture, and tech services. In 2023, there were 10 buildings in Chongchuan contributing over a billion yuan in taxes.
