New quality productive forces | Traditional manufacturer thrives using digital technologies
Jiangsu Dasheng Group, located in Chongchuan district, Nantong, Jiangsu province, has thrived as a business for 129 years and continues to grow with the help of new technologies.
The company has invested over 1 billion yuan ($138 million) in reforms over the past five years, actively promoting intelligence transformation, digital reconstruction and networked collaboration.
In 2015, the company built the country's first fully digitalized spinning workshop with domestic production equipment. In 2022, it launched the first smart spinning factory in China.
The smart spinning factory employs 5G data transmission and intelligent management cloud platforms and features fully automated and intelligent spinning equipment, an online process and quality monitoring system, intelligent logistics, and smart warehousing management.
By integrating smart logistics into production lines, the smart spinning factory has increased production efficiency by about 15 percent. The comprehensive cost per metric ton of yarn has decreased by over 1,000 yuan, and the unit labor cost is only about half of that in traditional workshops.
The group has established four provincial and two municipal independent innovation platforms, with 67 valid patents and 12 new products certified as high-tech products in Jiangsu.
