New quality productive forces boost spring farming in Hai'an
Spring farming is underway in Hai'an, a county-level city in Nantong, Jiangsu province, with digital technology playing a crucial role.
At Nantong Jihe Smart Agriculture Co Ltd's wheat planting base in Kaifa village, unmanned agricultural machinery, efficient pest control equipment, and digital farm monitoring equipment offer comprehensive smart services throughout the farming process.
The company's general manager Liu Lin said, "Using infrared spectroscopy, our digital farm application on mobile phones allows us to monitor each field as well as track temperature, humidity, and liquid levels between plots. We can take timely actions to promote growth in underperforming areas."
Advanced technologies are also applied in the cultivation of vegetables, fruits, and flowers. Inside the greenhouse of Jiangsu Nongxin Technology Co Ltd, vegetables and fruits grown with drip irrigation, spray irrigation, and mist cultivation are monitored 24/7 using digital intelligent devices.
Staff can use a mobile application to monitor plant growth in real-time, allowing for precise fertilization and watering. Data collection devices in the greenhouse continuously monitor soil, air, light, temperature, and humidity, providing precise control over the growing environment.
"Through these adjustments, we have significantly reduced labor costs, saved on water and fertilizer, and improved the quality of our agricultural products," said company manager Xu Yeping.
