The Jiangsu Provincial Department of Commerce recently announced the third batch of recognized time-honored enterprises in Jiangsu, with Hai'an-based company Xinyuan Silk Group making the list.

Following Jiangsu Pinwang Brewery Group Stock, Xinyuan Silk becomes the second enterprise from Hai'an, a county-level city in Nantong, Jiangsu province, to earn this recognition.

Established in 1969, Xinyuan Silk officially formed its conglomerate in December 1994, with its headquarters located in the Hai'an High-Tech Development Zone. With a total investment of 1.16 billion yuan ($160.35 million) and employing 6,000 staff members, the company is a leading enterprise in national agricultural industrialization.

Excelling in mulberry cultivation, silkworm rearing, silk reeling and spinning, silk fabric weaving, silk apparel and home textiles, silk cultural creativity, and comprehensive utilization of mulberry silkworm cocoon resources, Xinyuan Silk stands out in its industry for having the largest base area, supporting the most farmers, and having the most complete industrial chain.
