Haimen district in Nantong, Jiangsu province took proactive measures to foster the coordinated development of urban and rural areas throughout 2023.

The government successfully implemented 12 agricultural projects and renovated five old residential areas.

Furthermore, progress in traffic engineering has propelled Haimen's integration into the expansive economic network encompassing Shanghai's Jiading district as well as Kunshan and Taicang in Jiangsu province, elevating its overall urban functionality.

In its quest to drive industrial structural transformation, Haimen has outlined ambitious plans for 2024. The government is expected to beef up four key service industry clusters, namely digital economy, science and technology, modern commerce and cultural tourism.

As a prime example of industrial integration, the Zhigu Green Sea Ecological Agriculture Park in Haimen has attracted a substantial 360,000 visitors since it opened. The park not only serves as a popular tourist destination, but also plays a pivotal role in industrial upgrading and agricultural brand cultivation.

The district has also effectively ensured the wellbeing of its residents. The establishment of public services and facilities has been welcomed by local residents while enhancing the urban living environment.

In 2024, Haimen is poised to advance urban revitalization, aiming to realize the overarching objectives of fostering universal prosperity and harmony, said the authorities.
