The industrial economy in Haimen Port New Area, located in Haimen district, Nantong, Jiangsu province, is experiencing rapid growth, with industrial sales surpassing 55 billion yuan ($7.69 billion) in 2023, as reported by local authorities.

This growth can be attributed to the area's embrace of a new model of integrated development that requires strategic planning of industries and economic expansion.

At the heart of this growth are two leading enterprises, Zenith Steel and Ailang Wind Power, which are driving the extension, complementation, and fortification of industrial chains. They have established the two dominant industries of advanced metal materials and deep processing, as well as manufacturing of new energy equipment.

This strategic approach enables these major enterprises to demonstrate their industrial expertise, propelling the development of bulk logistics in the port and ultimately fostering a profound interconnection between advanced manufacturing and productive service industries.

With a focused approach on key industries, precise efforts are being made to attract investment and execute project construction. Last year, the area successfully secured contracts for 10 major projects, including one valued at over 5 billion yuan, all concentrated within the leading industrial chain.

The development of the industrial chain and the cultivation of large enterprises have led to increased human and material flows. Last year, the port area amassed a cargo throughput of 37 million metric tons, generating dock revenue of 500 million yuan.
