China's leading shipbuilder delivers first vessel of 2024
Nantong COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Co Ltd in Nantong, Jiangsu province recently delivered a cutting-edge 82,000-metric-ton bulk carrier and named a 24,188 TEU (twenty-foot equivalent unit) container ship, marking a strong start to the year.
The newly-delivered vessel, named BBG Guijiang, is the first of four identical ships commissioned by SPDB Financial Leasing. It is an upgraded version built on the foundation of the company's previously successful models.
By integrating advanced energy-saving and emission-reduction technologies, as well as smart capabilities, BBG Guijiang represents a benchmark for new-generation eco-friendly and intelligent vessels.
OOCL Valencia, the recently-named 24,188 TEU container ship, is the fourth vessel of its kind that Nantong COSCO KHI Ship has constructed for Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL).
The vessel embodies the latest trends in the global shipping industry. It is the first of its kind completed in China in 2024 as well as the largest container ship in the world, representing the high standards and quality of China's shipbuilding industry.
